FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Direct Connect?

What is Direct Connect?

Massive Networks offers a Direct Connect Service that features a select number of Cloud and Network Service Providers who supply connectivity services to Buyers and Partners as an alternative to connecting over the public Internet.

Through the Massive Networks Direct Connect Service, Service Providers are able to achieve this objective by leveraging a choice of private interconnections instead.

I’m A Service Provider, How Can I Qualify?

Service Providers who are looking to Connect to our Cloud Marketplace and participate in our private interconnection from interested Massive Networks customers can provision the enterprise-grade secure service through of our flexible interconnection options.

To enroll simply to our Cloud Marketplace and follow the instructions.

If your company meets the Massive Networks Direct Connect criteria after review, your enrollment will be approved and your company profile and will be accessible via our Cloud Marketplace search.

I’m A Buyer, How Can I Find A Service Provider?

To search our Cloud Marketplace for Service Providers, go to our Cloud Marketplace Partner page.

What Are The Interconnection Products?

Cross Connect (Layer 1): Dedicated fiber or copper connections between providers and consumers deliver the highest level of isolation and performance. This option is supported by most cloud providers and is required for extremely high-performance applications (e.g. HFT) and non-Ethernet/Internet protocols (e.g. Fiber Channel for storage services).

Cloud Exchange (Layer 2): The Massive Networks Cloud Exchange enables customers to dynamically establish logical connections (VLANs or Virtual Cross Connects) over a single physical fiber connection. Users manage their virtual network infrastructure via a web portal and/or API.

Internet Exchange (Layer 3): The Massive Networks Peering Exchange (and third-party exchanges) allow customers to establish peering relationships with their providers, where Internet transit services are bypassed for specified routes. This option is useful for higher-level services (e.g. platform, software), and when the provider does not offer a lower-level Direct Connect solution.
